About the job

This critical team member will support customers by installing and configuring our software in customer environments. Starting with a VMware or “bare metal” platform, you will install and configure Oracle Linux, Oracle WebLogic, the Oracle database, Oracle BPEL manager, and ReadSoft’s PROCESSIT application, which is a Java Web application built with Oracle ADF. You will ensure that everything is properly integrated with the customer’s Oracle E-Business Suite system. You will also advise customers on how to administer and operate these platform components, support or perform system upgrades, do tier three troubleshooting and technical support, and do performance tuning.

A strong background in system installation, configuration and administration is a must. Knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite is very desirable, and functional knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite Accounts Payable processing is a big plus.

Our customers are all over the world, so travel is part of the job. While most of the work is scheduled during normal business hours, there is some after-hours and weekend work due to customer schedules and time zone differences.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Work with ReadSoft professional services teams and partners to provide technical and functional expertise on ReadSoft PROCESSIT products.
  • Deliver installations, troubleshooting, and implementation of the PROCESSIT products for new customers, and assist with upgrades of existing customers.
  • Handle critical support case escalations by working directly or together with colleagues on the case.
  • Deliver training on PROCESSIT and the underlying Oracle platform components to ReadSoft employees, partners and customers.
  • Pro-actively work with the product development team on product enhancements, upgrades and defect corrections.
  • Support system and user acceptance testing activities, including troubleshooting and issue resolution so that tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with technical documentation staff to ensure completion of all required documentation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.

About you

You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and a minimum of 7 years of related work experience.

Other required qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of overall IT experience.
  • Experience in managing technical environments and with IT operations.
  • Experience in creating and managing virtualized environments using VMware or Oracle Virtualization Manager.
  • Experience managing Linux, Unix and Windows OS environments including some shell scripting, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • At least 5 years working with Oracle 10g or 11g database and PL/SQL experience.
  • Experience supporting/working with Oracle Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) software projects, particularly the Oracle BPEL Manager.

It is a plus if you also have:

  • Knowledge of Oracle E-Business suite R12, especially integrating other systems with EBS.
  • Good understanding of Web Service Standards like SOAP, WSDL, UDDI.
  • Working knowledge of Java/J2EE programming.
